Answer to our scientific questions.
How diverse is the effective radiative forcing of aerosols in the Arctic in CMIP6 models ?
This project aims at assessing the effective aerosols radiative forcing for anthropogenic aerosols, thanks to the APRP method, in the Arctic for an ensemble of CMIP6 models.
Sub questions
Each of these questions may be related to an issue.
What is the ensemble evaluation of the ERF of aerosols ?
This will be answered in two times : a raw assessment of the radiative forcing looking at TOA net flux differences for SW and LW and an assessment thanks to the APRP method for the LW.
As for the LW, we will need to introduce a radiative kernel method to remove the change in surface temperature due to the change in the atmospheric composition.
As a result, we will have an evaluation between the full spectral domain but also for LW and SW.
How is this value distributed within the ensemble ?
What are the main driving components, as described by the APRP, leading to differences between the models ?
Can we assess also the impacts on surface radiative forcing anomaly, and if so, adapt the APRP method to extract information about the root of these impacts ?
