Merge annotations

Enable the merging of adjacent annotations that are the same label. This can be done, for example, via the menu that opens when one right-click on an active annotation, with a menu entry like “Merge with annotation to the left” or “Merge with annotation to the right”, or both. This menu should be contextual, i.e. if there is no candidate on both sides, no merging is proposed.
